Design by Doshi Levien
Kettal presents their new range of ropes, Bela ropes, inspired by a fabric with a twill weave structure. Wrapping this fabric around an existing rope immediately revealed the direction for the new Kettal ropes. Taking the lead from the Terrain Elements, the ropes play on the tonal differences between colours. The challenge was to use the elegant thin lines of the twill as a way to mix colour; from a distance the ropes look visually rich and textural and on closer inspection we discover it is provided by the twill pattern.
Bela Rope
The name Bela, which in Hindi is a flowering creeper, describes the lively colourful expression of this reinvented rope material of which there are now different colours to combine with the Kettal palette of materials.
